I'm New Here

I’m New Here!

Welcome to the First Presbyterian Church of Tonawanda Web site! We want to make it easy for you to check us out, with the following information that we hope will be helpful!

Tell me about the facilities!

Every level in the church is accessible by elevator and all of the rest rooms are handicapped accessible. There are designated parking spaces for handicapped and older folks in the parking lot next to the church.

What’s the worship service like?

The service is a smooth blend of new and traditional elements for all ages. We sing music from the past and today’s music in many musical styles. Everything in the service is shown on a large power-point screen so that there’s never any fumbling around to find my place. We pray. We listen for God’s word. We give thanks for the blessings in our lives.

What about my kids?

There are “Sunday School” classes from 9:30-10:30. In the worship service, every Sunday, there’s a brief message for kids, followed by “hearts and hands” - making great crafts for people who are elderly or in need. There is also a special enclosed room where families with very young children can play, while the adults can still see and hear the service.

What about Holy Communion?

We believe that every person is welcome at Christ’s table. Whatever I may be going through or wherever I may be on my spiritual journey, I can always come and receive the spiritual renewal and strength Jesus provides in this sacrament.

Is there a Dress code?

No way! Some folks like to dress up and other like to come in comfy clothes. All that matters is that we show up to worship God!

Where can I Park?

Our church is located at 149 Broad St. in the city of Tonawanda. There is a parking lot next to the church with ample spaces for seniors and handicapped folks. On Sundays, parking is permitted on the square surrounding Clinton Park at the south end of Broad St.
