Bible 101 is returning this Fall! For Adults of all ages and stages!
Have you ever wished you knew more about what is in the Bible and what it truly means for our lives? Do you often wish you had a deeper relationship with God...and that understanding more about things in the Bible would be a great help? Well there is an opportunity coming to help satisfy that spiritual hunger. A class is being offered entitled, “The Bible – The Story of Faithfulness: a Survey of the Old Testament.” It is from the “Covenant People” curriculum, published by the PCUSA (Presbyterian Church, USA.)
In this class, we will:
· Come to understand the familiar stories of the Old Testament (OT) which are basic to a deeper understanding of the New Testament
· Learn how these stories help us understand the God of the OT
· Recognize how the OT is still used in worship today
· Understand scriptural words and theological concepts
· Learn to easily find the books of the Old Testament
· “…hide God’s Word in our hearts…”
· And have a lot of fun together
This Old Testament class will be taught by Peggy Brown, weekly (evenings) beginning in September. This class will be a great opportunity to experience the joy and peace that a deeper understanding of the Old Book can bring. Prayerfully consider this over the summer. A signup sheet will be on the bulletin board in the narthex, or call Pastor Ed (692-1319) or Peggy (695-5883) for questions or to sign up.
