VBS 2010
What a GREAT time we had at the “baobab blast”! All the people who volunteered really outdid themselves, and the kids had a wonderfully fun time! Sue and I are really grateful for each person who helped us out and made this year’s VBS a good experience for all the children. Without each person’s talents, this would not have been as great as it was.
We would like to especially thank the DESIGN TEAM for all their hard work and awesome ideas! They really did so much and made Africa come alive for us.
This includes the wonderful murals in the sanctuary – the animals seemed real!
The TEACHERS and their HELPERS worked hard and saw that the kids were safe and learned about God. The STORYTELLERS and their HELPERS brought each days’ story to reality and the kids enjoyed learning about each characters (and there were some characters!)
The MUSIC was fun and upbeat and the LEADERS and HELPERS had lots of fun teaching the songs to the kids and did a super job of it! The PRAYER leaders got the kids off to the right start.
GAMES were fun and got some of that energy out. Everyone who worked on this team did great!
CIRCLE II did wonderful snacks and the last evening’s reception was wonderful – the cakes were yummy!
The CRAFTS were fun and the mission quilt project was really enjoyed by the kids. SCIENCE was fun, too!
SECURITY people – you did a great job. The only thing that happened was a popped ball! – No accidents!
REGISTRATION team – Good Job! All things went smoothly.
The FLOAT team did an awesome job – you can see the float pictures on the Narthex bulletin board. We won second place!
The CLEAN-UP CREW did all the “taking-down” stuff and packed everything away and did a super job of it!
We would especially like to thank Jack Haacker, the Nolan family, and Peggy Brown for the “Extra” effort they did to help us look good, like we actually knew what we were doing!
We are still resting up and going over final numbers. We do have a couple:
TOTAL REGISTERED: 100
Average attendance: 59
The final evening’s program was packed and hot! But all the kids sang their hearts out and everything went (sorta) smoothly.
Everyone had fun and so did we!
